    Lightning struck the KMTX WSR-88D, operated by the National Weather Service Salt Lake City Weather Forecast Office, and located at Promontory Point. The lightning strike immediately disabled the radar, and it was out of service for almost 24 hours. Some wiring and two circuit boards had to be replaced. In addition, 16 panels of the radome were damaged and had to be replaced.
