A strong to severe thunderstorm moved through Vernal on the afternoon of the 21st, producing some strong wind gusts. The only severe wind gust recorded with this event was the 72 mph gust recorded at KVEL ASOS at the Vernal Airport at 4:12 PM MDT. No reports of wind damage were received with this event.

On this day, this RAWS site captured a wind gust to 81 mph at 1:27 MDT from the nearby thunderstorm. Locations are NOAA's own county and National Weather Service forecast-zone names, which is why you will see both Salt Lake and Wasatch Mountains South of I-80. A storm not listed here was not necessarily absent — it means NOAA has no recorded report for it, which is common for isolated hail.
